Out of your mind?
I just have to digressed about work. So, today Im a learner in doing quotations and I feel like as if I was thrown to the sea without any life-vest!
My collegues are on leave and it doesnt help that Im as confused as a blinded rat. Firstly, I was given a task to source for a hydrocarbon fluid. Maybe it seems like an easy task but to me... OMFG where am i gg to find that FLUID!?
And then, after sending out enquiries to the suppliers, ONE supplier finally decides to call up and clarify. It doesnt help it to know that Im speaking to some ANGMOH guy with the accent and the curiosity that makes me feel downright inferior
and it goes like this..
Tony: Can I speak to Michelle, please?
Me: Michelle is on leave today.
Tony: Is that Hafizah on the other line?
Me: (how the heck did he know my name!?) Erm, yes correct..
Tony: Hi, Im Tony and I would like to refer to the enquiry that you sent to us. You are enquiring about a hydrocarbon fluid, isnt it?
Me: Yes..
Tony: What are you gonna do with them?
Me: (Speechless) Erm, the enquiry is from our customer
Tony: 162kg per drum and you are requesting about 200 tonnes of fluid.. which is equivalent to.. (hears tapping of calculator)...1,235 drums of fluids.
Me: (OMG. THATS A HELL LOT!)ok..
Tony:.....
Me:.....
(I swear there's a long pause between us. Maybe taken aback with the figures. 1,1235 drums of fluid? Dah boleh buat another piece of land seh!)
Tony: Well, where is your customer based at?
Me: Myanmmar.
Tony: I suggest you revert it back to the manufacturer
Me: Where? (I feel so stupid)
Tony: Where? What a question *laughs* well, to your client in Myanmmar perhaps.
OK I KNOW I FEEL SO STUPID BUT IT DOESNT HELP IT IF HE HAS THIS ACCENT THATS SO PEKAT. COWBOY STYLE.
and it doesnt help it that im new to this thing.
200 tonnes. THATS WAY TOO MUCH DONT YOU THINK!?
